Enyimba chairman and Nigerian football legend Nwankwo Kanu has called for increased support for the club as the People’s Elephant seek to revive their campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Kanu’s appeal comes as Enyimba look to improve their performances and build momentum after a challenging period in the league.
The former Super Eagles captain emphasised the importance of supporters standing behind the team as players and officials work towards turning their season around.
Enyimba, one of Nigeria’s most successful football clubs, have traditionally competed for major domestic honours and remain the only Nigerian club to have won the CAF Champions League, lifting the trophy in 2003 and 2004.
Expectations are therefore high whenever the Aba-based side competes in the NPFL, with supporters eager to see the club challenge strongly for honours.
Kanu’s call highlights the role of fan support as Enyimba attempt to regain consistency and strengthen their position during the remainder of the campaign.
Attention will now turn to the club’s upcoming fixtures as Enyimba seek the results needed to revive their season and restore momentum in their NPFL campaign.
