The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has expressed concern over the alleged politicization of technical challenges in the power sector and has rejected allegations of incompetence against him by members of the Oyo State House of Assembly.
Officials familiar with the matter revealed that India has already signalled reluctance to grant approval for Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to New Delhi, Ambassador Muhammad Dahiru.
Segun Showunmi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has criticised Mehdi Hasan of Al Jazeera for subjecting Daniel Bwala, special adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on media and policy communication, to what he described as “hostility” and public ridicule during a recent Head to Head interview.
The case, which has raised concerns over potential political interference, was initially disclosed during proceedings at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Maitama, Abuja.
The ruling was delivered by Justice Joyce Obehi Abdulmalik.
Investigations into the matter have been ongoing since 2025, but no formal trial has been initiated, and the specifics of the alleged plan have not been publicly disclosed.

In a statement released on Monday, the Kaduna Victims’ Coalition, which said it represents “countless individuals, families and communities” who endured years of hardship, fear and loss under the former governor’s tenure, called for full accountability.
According to him, the situation is part of a calculated effort to damage his reputation, force him to align politically, or neutralise him as a threat.
The disclosure was made by the APC State Chairman, Stanley Okoro Emegha, who briefed journalists in Abakaliki after a closed-door meeting with party officials drawn from across the state.
