Police Rescue Seven Students, Two Adults Trapped in Anambra Flood

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have rescued seven students and two adults following a flooding incident in Anambra State.

The victims reportedly became trapped after rising floodwaters made movement difficult, prompting an emergency response by security personnel.

Police officers moved into the affected area and successfully evacuated the nine victims to safety, preventing what could have resulted in a more serious incident.

The rescue comes amid growing concerns over flooding in parts of Anambra State, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall when roads, communities and other low-lying areas can become inundated.

Residents have been urged to exercise caution around flooded roads and waterways, as the depth and strength of moving water can be difficult to determine.

The incident also highlights the importance of rapid emergency response and greater preparedness in communities vulnerable to flooding.

Authorities are expected to continue monitoring affected areas as residents contend with the impact of heavy rainfall and the associated risk of flash floods.
